Most pregnancies — around 90 percent of them — last 40 weeks (or more, if you're overdue), though a pregnancy is considered full-term once you reach the 37-week mark. Still, more and more expectant women these days (around 10 percent) find that their expected nine months of pregnancy has turned into an unexpected seven or eight months of pregnancy because they go into labor too early.
